Pennsylvania iGaming Showcases $160 Million in Revenue for June



Pennsylvania iGaming is not slowing down in the summer and reached record levels of gaming tax revenue for the fiscal year, according to its gaming control board.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported the Keystone State generated $160.6 million in iGaming revenue for June 2024, an increase of 18.6% compared with the iGaming revenue total in June 2023.

PA online casino offers slots, table games, and poker in its iGaming market. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board also reported that the state took in a record-setting amount of gaming tax revenue for 2023/2024 fiscal year.

Slots Lead Way in State

Pennsylvania iGaming totaled $160,631,380 in revenue for the month of June, more than $25 million more than the June 2023 total of $135,436,692.

Slots led the way in revenue generation for the state, totaling $119,424,939 in revenue. Table games totaled $39,004,081 and poker chipped in with $2,202,360 in revenue for the month as well.

Pennsylvania has three separate iGaming tax rates for each of its three games. Slot games are taxed at 54% of revenue totals, table games at 16%, and online poker also at 16%. For the month, Pennsylvania iGaming tax revenues totaled $71,067,973.

Total tax revenue for all forms of gaming in the state for June was $198,021,772.

Record Gaming Revenue in FY 23/24 for PA

The June 2024 totals ended the Fiscal Year for the state and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported the combined gaming tax revenues reached a record level of $2.54 billion. The tax revenue figure is a result of $5.89 billion from casino slot machines and table games, iGaming, sports wagering, video gaming terminals, and fantasy sports contests in the previous fiscal year.

The state’s previous high for gaming and tax revenues in a fiscal year was 2022/2023, which saw $5.5 billion in total gaming revenue and $2.36 billion in tax revenue.

Retail table game and slot revenues were down in the fiscal year, but iGaming saw a 27.16% increase in revenue when compared to the previous fiscal year. Total iGaming revenue for the 2023/2024 fiscal year came in at $1.94 billion, more than a $400 million increase from the previous fiscal year total.

Tax revenue from iGaming was $841.65 million for the Keystone State.

Sports betting, fantasy contests, and video gaming terminals also saw decreases in revenue for the year.
